[Mar 2010] Luthuli Museum Commission:

We were commissioned by the Luthuli Museum, to do a beaded wall sign featuring their new graphic branding. This will form the central piece of their new shop and will inform a whole product range on sale in the shop. The Luthuli Museum is on the North Coast of Kwa-Zulu Natal.

The work was done by our Master Crafter Douglas Chipeta.

Our thanks to Rooksano Omar - Director of the Luthuli Museum for this valuable commission.

Old Mutual (a core funder of Umcebo Trust) kindly threw a celebratory "welcome home" party at the Umcebo Trust shop on Friday 5th March. The party was to celebrate the successes of the Trust at the Design Indaba and give Durbanites a chance to see the Eco-Tree and the other craft that travelled to the Indaba.

Special thanks to Andile Ncontsa and Ayanda Sema (Old Mutual Foundation), Di Ching (Umcebo Administrator), Leon Ahlers (Umcebo Trustee, for being Master of Ceremony), Derek Naidoo (Deputy City Manager, for kindly attending and giving the keynote address, Akash Maharaj (Old Mutual, for attending and speaking).

Some time ago we were commissioned by Architect Mark Leslie-Smith and his wife Edlena to produce a huge custom chandelier design for their stairwell in their beautiful home.

Here are some photos of the chandelier installed.
